Journey To Joy

My Journey to Joy began in 2007 when my feet first landed on a yoga mat and I felt a sense of peace during the closing meditation. I connected with my breath for the first time and found a quite calm. I was hooked! I practiced with teachers who inspired me to relax in the pose and stop reaching so hard. I learned to let go of so much hardness inside my physical body and mind. I desired much more and in the summer of 2011 and enrolled in Yoga Teacher Training on my father’s birthday, August 24. My daughter and I were so excited – she was so happy to be spending time with her auntie and cousin while mummy went to school.

Our lives changed on a tragic day two days later when our sweet Emily passed away. Our entire family was rocked to the core and grief tore each member of our family apart. We stood together “family first” by each others side with the support of a family of friends who held us together like a magic gorilla glue. Our healing is and always will be from the love they shared with us and we share with each other.

I completed my YTT200 at Wellness Within – Clare Newman held my heart and soul in her hands and brought me to a place where my healing journey began. I will be forever grateful for her grace.  My lust for life began and I had the pleasure of teaching from my home to family and friends.

I am curious and have a thirst for knowledge. I wanted to know more about the energetic body and began training in Reiki in 2014 and was attuned as a Reiki II Practitioner. I jumped in with two hands and feet and enjoyed sharing with my friends. It was a great hobby and I had fun.

In September 2015, I continued my healing journey in Sedona, Arizona with Spiritual Response Therapy (SRT) training – the marvellous Susan Carollo gave me my wings to fly and my path took a new direction. My journey went from the mat to the Akashic Records and I was transported into a new world of understanding. SRT training opened my heart and mind to a level of understanding far beyond anything I had every imagined in my wildest dreams.

My own health became my priority on October 9, 2017, my 48th birthday, when a migraine came and didn’t leave for 13 days. Medication brought relief and sunglasses were on when daylight shone. I needed relief and Reiki shone her ever loving light on me. I continued my Reiki certification on October 23, 2017 with Hazel Butterworth. My own healing became my priority, divinity clearly indicated that my own healing was imperative. I began to walk the talk of healing and and found relief from the excruciating pain.  I have learned we don’t heal over night or stay pain free.  Health and healing is a process that takes time and a gentle, constant patience.  Self-care became my priority for the first time in my life and has changed into a daily, life-long practice.

Each day I wake and understand the importance of peace, serenity, gratitude, integrity, kindness, and letting go of ego. I know that I have become the lady that I am because of the true love I received – I will be forever grateful for all of the love that brought me here. Thank you all for that gift!
